REXONA RUN 2012 SEPT 23, 2012

i've been out of the road racing scene for the longest time since i started running in 2008, primarily because, the races has been held in almost the same venue for more than 2 years already. one of the venues that i haven't had a race held in would be the MOA area. so when i was given the opportunity to join this run, i decided that this could be my come back race.

the past few weeks had been hard on my training schedule, primarily because of the bad weather.

well well well, i guess the running gods heard me (na hindi pa ako 100% ready)

for those who haven't heard or seen the tweets since last night, please see press release below regarding Rexona Run 2012:

Rexona Run 2012 Postponed

In its commitment to give the best running experience to its runners, the Rexona Run
2012 slated this Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Mall of Asia grounds has been postponed.

Due to the extreme weather that is hitting Metro Manila and other parts of the country,
Rexona, together with RunRio, has decided to move this much-anticipated event to a later
date to ensure that the logistics are fully in place to give participants a safe and enjoyable
run. This will give the race officials and participants who are affected by the heavy rains and
flooding time to recover and recharge before the run.

Now on its third year, the Rexona Run has become one of the most anticipated
running events. This year, participants will prove their mettle and get a chance to win cash
prizes, medals and bragging rights in the 21K Solo, 21K Relay and 5K races. Flat screen
TVs and mobile phones will also be given away to lucky participants.

The top 3 finishers in the 21K Solo take home P7,000, 5,500, and 4,000; while
P5,000, 4,000, and 3,000 will be awarded to each member of the top finishers in the 21K
Relay division. Finally, the top three finishers in the 5K category bring home P4,000 for first,
3,000 for second and 2,000 for third.

why do i hate mizuno

Mizuno sucks. BIG TIME. yup. you read that right. why? point #1: they are not a mainstream brand. mainstream in a sense that they don't even ha ve well-known product endorsers unlike other sports brands around the world. i mean, how can they expect their products to sell like pancakes if the y're like that diba? point #2: they do not promote much of themselves. not much print ads if you'd ask me. i work in a magazine publishing company and i don't see mu ch of their products splashed all over our magazines. i don't see them havi ng television ads too. not even in the newspapers does mizuno have anything that will lead people to buy their products. point #3: the products are not that "fashionable." as compared to other "mainstream" brands, you won't see you r regular juans and marias weari ng mizunos together with their jeans to the office. you don't see them usually wearing mizuno s when they go around the malls, walking, shopping, chilli

running is good for the heart

so, you're a runner. you've heard and might have read the benefits of running,  and what running (or exercise in general) does to you and your body. other than the stated obvious reasons why running is good for the heart,  here are some more reasons on why running is really good for the heart. let's just have the pictures speak for themselves...     (akala ni fifi sha lang ah :) hahaha)                             running is really good for the heart, as can be seen through these images (but running also is not that friendly to your pockets, hahahahaha) for other run-related love entries check on the following blogs too: -   kikayrunner - ronald a.k.a. halimaw so ano, tara, takbo na! ayot? apir!     eto talaga ang dahilan sa break up ni...

virgin no more

people say that it's painful when you do it for the first time. a lot of my friends have done it way ahead before me.  people have been telling since mid-2009 that i should already try to do it.  i've always thought of doing this when i feel I'm ready for it, to commit to it.  I didn't want to do something I would eventually regret. doing this entails responsibility, and commitment, and would be really time-consuming.   let's begin with the end when i started seriously running at last year's Condura Run, I never imagined thinking of ever running a full marathon in the near future. after that condura run, i started training for 10K races, then slowly leveling up to having LSDs and 15K and 10milers, and eventually had my first half marathon at Botak Paatibayan in May 2009. during that race, i witnessed how a not so "well-organized" full marathon that packed up everything way before the "cut-off" when the race didn't even have a cut-o
