what have i been doing these past few months

it has been a while since i last posted here. there have been a lot of things going on with my life, add to that the fact that, i'm not even sure if there are still people reading running blogs that have personal insights. (as i've been telling my friends who i've been running with since 2009 [yes, it has been ages since i started into this addiction called running], most of the so-called running blogs nowadays are just people re-posting press releases, as compared to the time when i started blogging).

so, what have i been doing lately?

earlier this year, i had my 3rd Condura FM.

Also, I was able to do my 2nd Ateneo Aquathlon.

sa mapula or sa maputi?
"face off" for fun bet during our teammate's farewell breakfast
ateneo aquathlon
my 1st multisport for the year
based on the facial reaction, i believe you'd get how the race was :)
lack of pool time was the culprit hahaha!
Despite my busy schedule, I was also able to participate in some runs.

goofing around with Team CB's Bilz & Daie Juanting at the start of MC Cool Run

first sub 60 10K in a long time

As tradition, I have been given the privilege to run during the Takbo Runfest, also known as Takbo.ph's Anniversary.

It's been a while since I ran 21K (obvious ba sa mukha? :) )
Finally. natapos ko din.
And in fairness, 2:29 finish time for someone 'rusty'
I've been also able to run the RUPM 2013.

one of the rare moments i was seen or had a picture during the race.
first time in a long time to wear mizunos during race.
On top of these limited races, I've been around a few road races and multisport events as part of my work.

1) BDO Race for Life

first time to be on stage, as a presenter.

2) 2013 Tri United 2

with Timmy Dadia.

3) Cebu Ironman 70.3

Last year, I said to myself, I would be in Cebu for my 30th birthday. Fortunately, I was assigned to attend this year's Ironman 70.3.

business before pleasure.

4) Cebu Radio Tour
As part of my work in Cebu, I represented my brand during the launch in Cebu. I toured 3 radio stations during my short stay there.

5) 2013 SCTEX Duathlon

instead of competing, i was limited to manning the booth and giving out premium items.

So what's next for me?

This.

why do i hate mizuno

Mizuno sucks. BIG TIME. yup. you read that right. why? point #1: they are not a mainstream brand. mainstream in a sense that they don't even ha ve well-known product endorsers unlike other sports brands around the world. i mean, how can they expect their products to sell like pancakes if the y're like that diba? point #2: they do not promote much of themselves. not much print ads if you'd ask me. i work in a magazine publishing company and i don't see mu ch of their products splashed all over our magazines. i don't see them havi ng television ads too. not even in the newspapers does mizuno have anything that will lead people to buy their products. point #3: the products are not that "fashionable." as compared to other "mainstream" brands, you won't see you r regular juans and marias weari ng mizunos together with their jeans to the office. you don't see them usually wearing mizuno s when they go around the malls, walking, shopping, chilli

running is good for the heart

so, you're a runner. you've heard and might have read the benefits of running,  and what running (or exercise in general) does to you and your body. other than the stated obvious reasons why running is good for the heart,  here are some more reasons on why running is really good for the heart. let's just have the pictures speak for themselves...     (akala ni fifi sha lang ah :) hahaha)                             running is really good for the heart, as can be seen through these images (but running also is not that friendly to your pockets, hahahahaha) for other run-related love entries check on the following blogs too: -   kikayrunner - ronald a.k.a. halimaw so ano, tara, takbo na! ayot? apir!     eto talaga ang dahilan sa break up ni...

virgin no more

people say that it's painful when you do it for the first time. a lot of my friends have done it way ahead before me.  people have been telling since mid-2009 that i should already try to do it.  i've always thought of doing this when i feel I'm ready for it, to commit to it.  I didn't want to do something I would eventually regret. doing this entails responsibility, and commitment, and would be really time-consuming.   let's begin with the end when i started seriously running at last year's Condura Run, I never imagined thinking of ever running a full marathon in the near future. after that condura run, i started training for 10K races, then slowly leveling up to having LSDs and 15K and 10milers, and eventually had my first half marathon at Botak Paatibayan in May 2009. during that race, i witnessed how a not so "well-organized" full marathon that packed up everything way before the "cut-off" when the race didn't even have a cut-o
