i'm blue

if ' i'm green i would die hahaha kapag makatapos ako ng aking unang triathlon, gusto kong i-reward ang sarili ko ng ganito. shempre ang pagbibilhan ko nito ay sa aking favorite running store na second wind :)  pero this has to wait until i have finished (or should i say, survived) my triathlon. training mode starts now (uhm, i need expert guidance on this things things as you fairly know, i am a newbie biker, and a not so efficient swimmer) time to think happy thoughts again :)  ayot? apir! :)

redefining PR

it has been 2 weeks since the most anticipated takbo.ph runfest anniversary run and up until now, i still am grateful for that this group of people have given me. before, running was thought to be a boring sport. it was not even much given attention to by non-athletic people (or even siguro the other athletes, i'm not sure though) except for track stars siguro. basta, before, running was not an "in" thing. lately, there have been a lot of 'minor' issues with running, most specially with the increase of registration fees, deaths, overcrowding, cheaters, etc. but despite all of these reklamos we hear from people, we always see them naman in these races they complain about. labo diba? you complain but at the end of the day, you'd still register kahit na wala nang pera (guilty ka noh?! hahaha!) teka, off topic na ako. ayun. after mizuno infinity run, i haven't joined any races. why? maybe because of the influx of newbies gathering at every opportunity ...

makulay ang buhay...

since i've started getting hooked on this biking thing, i also started to check out the "world cup" of biking, the Tour de France. last year's version was colorful in the sense that one team, Astana,  had 2 powerhouse riders in its fold, namely lance armstrong and alberto contador, fighting for the top spot. lance: berto, mahuli, may t@e sa pwet! contador: ahh, ganon ha. since their rift grew stronger, lance then decided to bolt out of Astana, and eventually formed his own team, Radioshack. their break-up lead to this team's formation.   anyway, lets go back to my makulay na buhay kwento... as i was watching the Tour de France live streams, i kept on hearing about jerseys having colors such as YELLOW, GREEN, POLKA DOT, WHITE, etc. so i asked some of my hardcore biking friends about these colors/designs.  eventually i was enlightened and i would like to share these "new" learnings i've got ;)  the Yellow jersey If you are in it, you are the...

project TOOTEE: complete! :)

after biking and running for a little while, some of my running (now multisports) friends buyo-ed me to getting the rest of my bike parts to finally complete TOOTEE. here are some images from the most expensive weekend of my life :) where will i sit? tootee before the operation :) tiagra groupset & shimano wheelset with kenda kaliente tires mang boy of lifecycle weaving his magic touch to tootee :) the bike is slowly taking shape... konti pa... picture-taking with ninongs & ninangs ok na sana eh, pero may kulang. walang pedal??? paano yan aandar?

this is it.

three good things happened on June 30, 2010. 1. the end of the GMA presidency 2. the birth of my niece 3. the first purchased part of my bike :) so, asan na ang ibang parts?

falling in love with biking

they say that once you fall off a bike, you've become a full-fledged biker. if that's the case, then since last monday, i am a BIKER. given that June 14 was declared a non-working holiday because Independence Day fell on a saturday, a few of my multi-sport friends have decided to have a group ride in BHS as a way to show the new bikers (and those with new road bikes) a few tricks of the trade. being one of the enthusiastic newbies, i decided to join the troop. basically what the drills were, just to loop around BHS until someone says stop (or if you decide to stop, ok lang din). during this drill, i was doing fine. i was even able to run a half loop after. after a while, i decided to join some of the other people in the "playground" where they were teaching ellen how to brake properly, etc.  having been a confident rider with an MTB, i joined in. i rode around the area, making sure that there were not much distractions etc, and then i decided to borrow marvs...

timmy wanted to TRI

last weekend,  some of my friends had their animo sprint simulation. i thought to myself, since i know how to swim, i know how to run, and fairly able to ride the bike in a way, i decided to join them too! :) the last time i swam was 2 years ago, i decided to take things easily and just go with the flow. if i can perform better, then go. if my body tells me to chillax and take things slowly, then so be it :) since medyo tinatamad akong mag sulat, here are some of the images from the event ;) my borrowed MTB from RJ (thanks RJ!) my helmet, and my mizuno wave elixirs    before the simulation started, everyone was still smiling ang lamig! :)  feeling the water first before seriously trying to swim again :) then things got more serious. everyone became a tubig-mamaw   the "newbie" swimmer taking a break from all the seriousness everyone was in. (pero seriously, i tried not to stop) in the middle of the serious swims, others were able to make funny moments...
