why do i hate mizuno

Mizuno sucks. BIG TIME. yup. you read that right. why? point #1: they are not a mainstream brand. mainstream in a sense that they don't even ha ve well-known product endorsers unlike other sports brands around the world. i mean, how can they expect their products to sell like pancakes if the y're like that diba? point #2: they do not promote much of themselves. not much print ads if you'd ask me. i work in a magazine publishing company and i don't see mu ch of their products splashed all over our magazines. i don't see them havi ng television ads too. not even in the newspapers does mizuno have anything that will lead people to buy their products. point #3: the products are not that "fashionable." as compared to other "mainstream" brands, you won't see you r regular juans and marias weari ng mizunos together with their jeans to the office. you don't see them usually wearing mizuno s when they go around the malls, walking, shopping, chilli...

SURVIVOR International Marathon: Smart SIM 2009 (part 1)

i'm sure a lot of runner-bloggers already expressed their opinions towards the recently concluded Smart SIM 42K SURVIVAL Run held this weekend. this is just to summarize things from MY point of view, and MY OPINIONS. This was supposedly the "most prestigious" marathon in the Philippines (well so they say). if being prestigious means: 1. No water stations for most of the stretch of the SCTEX 2. No support stations allowed along the long stretch of the SCTEX 3. No light along the way 4. runners' safety along the long dark stretch of the SCTEX was unsure (even though the road was closed from motorists, the sheer darkness of the place can put an injured, dehydrated runner lost in the darkness) kahit na they say bring your own lights, ibang level pa rin ito. then i guess this is it. i think it could be likened to training for the BDM, pero sa BDM alam ko may ilaw, at may posibilidad to buy drinks/ hydration along the way. i've had a lot of friends from takbo.ph who had...

keep on running

after almost 1 year of running, the kenkoy runner was able to achieve his 1000KM. i didn't want to finish my 1000KMs in a "flamboyant" manner (like finishing it in a run, or something like that). i wanted to keep it simple. i ran tonight in UP, where i started to see the joys of running :) initially intended to run in the village, where most of the newbies would attempt to jog, but instead i found myself battling stomach pains (c/o LBM) and finally finished my target. special mention to the following who were there with me to finish my 1000KMs marky mark abby lau special participation of luis & marga :) to 1000kms more! practice lang! the next time i get to have my picture taken with Sir Jovie, kasama na yung 1000KM shirt! :) the kenkoy runner is back!
