welabmargalicious!

Commonwealth Avenue has been famous (and also infamous) for numerous accidents that happen there due to the rampaging buses at the middle of the night, and also the numerous rallies that plagued this major thoroughfare whenever something controversial hearings happen at Batasan, or if there are strikes from bus & jeepney operators due to oil price increase, etc.

Last Sunday, December 5, 2010, another concept of freedom has been achieved.

There have been a lot of people from takbo.ph who've had experience the support and care from our beloved Margababes/Margalicious. Marga has always been one of the first (if not the first) person to volunteer whenever support crews are needed, or whether there are banner-making sessions needed for first-timers (be it for a 21K, 42K, ultra-marathons, triathlons, duathlons, etc). Marga has always been there.

Last December 5, 2010, Marga was able to break free from her 'demons'. She surpassed them all.

Marga was able to break barriers, and stereotypes when she finished her first full marathon.  Here's her own account of her first full marathon.

guess who's the first timer here.

Marga has always been an inspiration to all of us.

QC incorporated last Sunday's race as part of the city's 71st foundation/ anniversary, but at the end of the day, takbo.ph peeps celebrated and welcomed one of our own into the rosters of MARATHONERS.

MARGA UY BAULA, you are now a MARATHONER!

si piolo, nag hire pa ng bodyguards pag tumatakbo, sayo, sila pang nakikipag unahan para mag hagad sayo

oh ha, may sarilin aylab banner!

kung wala ka mang inabutang FINISH LINE, yung iba naman walang ganito

you are one heck of a big person inside and out, and you proved to us all how sheerwill, determination, love and support reciprocates a thousand fold :) no medal or banner can ever trump that feeling of being able to help the person who's selflessly gives herself whenever the opportunity rises :)

thanks marga, for letting us be your support this time around.

why do i hate mizuno

Mizuno sucks. BIG TIME. yup. you read that right. why? point #1: they are not a mainstream brand. mainstream in a sense that they don't even ha ve well-known product endorsers unlike other sports brands around the world. i mean, how can they expect their products to sell like pancakes if the y're like that diba? point #2: they do not promote much of themselves. not much print ads if you'd ask me. i work in a magazine publishing company and i don't see mu ch of their products splashed all over our magazines. i don't see them havi ng television ads too. not even in the newspapers does mizuno have anything that will lead people to buy their products. point #3: the products are not that "fashionable." as compared to other "mainstream" brands, you won't see you r regular juans and marias weari ng mizunos together with their jeans to the office. you don't see them usually wearing mizuno s when they go around the malls, walking, shopping, chilli

running is good for the heart

so, you're a runner. you've heard and might have read the benefits of running,  and what running (or exercise in general) does to you and your body. other than the stated obvious reasons why running is good for the heart,  here are some more reasons on why running is really good for the heart. let's just have the pictures speak for themselves...     (akala ni fifi sha lang ah :) hahaha)                             running is really good for the heart, as can be seen through these images (but running also is not that friendly to your pockets, hahahahaha) for other run-related love entries check on the following blogs too: -   kikayrunner - ronald a.k.a. halimaw so ano, tara, takbo na! ayot? apir!     eto talaga ang dahilan sa break up ni...

virgin no more

people say that it's painful when you do it for the first time. a lot of my friends have done it way ahead before me.  people have been telling since mid-2009 that i should already try to do it.  i've always thought of doing this when i feel I'm ready for it, to commit to it.  I didn't want to do something I would eventually regret. doing this entails responsibility, and commitment, and would be really time-consuming.   let's begin with the end when i started seriously running at last year's Condura Run, I never imagined thinking of ever running a full marathon in the near future. after that condura run, i started training for 10K races, then slowly leveling up to having LSDs and 15K and 10milers, and eventually had my first half marathon at Botak Paatibayan in May 2009. during that race, i witnessed how a not so "well-organized" full marathon that packed up everything way before the "cut-off" when the race didn't even have a cut-o
