tri-kenkoy's wishlist

they once said that running was a 'cheap' sport.

that i have to disagree.

but now that i'm venturing into multi-sport, i do believe that this one is NOT a CHEAP sport.

other than having to focus on three sports, you also have to focus on having the tools to help you get better in all three aspects.

here are some items i want :)

bike jersey
(i prefer something 'unique" so that it's easier to identify me from the group, be it in pictures or attendance check)

cushioned bike saddle
(for those long rides which at times make your family jewels feel numb)

cyclo computer
(for those lonesome rides where you don't want to count the number of loops for the total distance travelled)

blue helmet

pedals

road/ tri bike shoes
(for a more efficient pedaling)

tri-specific/recommended running shoes
lighter and has built-in 'drainage system'
(for those "i'm-tinatamad-na-to-run-but-i-have-to" moments)

gwapo shades
(to cover the pagod eyes and to disguise the hilo look from the photographers)

tri-specific goggles
(or any swim goggles that will protect your eyes from the water, fingers, paddles or feet while being in the washing machine)

there. a list of the things i want/need.
basing it from the pics themselves you can see that there are a lot of ways to burn your money by joining these type of sports. nonetheless, it's addicting!

*please take note that all of these items are NOT requirements for venturing into multisport, i just like to have them, for both perform and japorm :)

why do i hate mizuno

Mizuno sucks. BIG TIME. yup. you read that right. why? point #1: they are not a mainstream brand. mainstream in a sense that they don't even ha ve well-known product endorsers unlike other sports brands around the world. i mean, how can they expect their products to sell like pancakes if the y're like that diba? point #2: they do not promote much of themselves. not much print ads if you'd ask me. i work in a magazine publishing company and i don't see mu ch of their products splashed all over our magazines. i don't see them havi ng television ads too. not even in the newspapers does mizuno have anything that will lead people to buy their products. point #3: the products are not that "fashionable." as compared to other "mainstream" brands, you won't see you r regular juans and marias weari ng mizunos together with their jeans to the office. you don't see them usually wearing mizuno s when they go around the malls, walking, shopping, chilli

virgin no more

people say that it's painful when you do it for the first time. a lot of my friends have done it way ahead before me.  people have been telling since mid-2009 that i should already try to do it.  i've always thought of doing this when i feel I'm ready for it, to commit to it.  I didn't want to do something I would eventually regret. doing this entails responsibility, and commitment, and would be really time-consuming.   let's begin with the end when i started seriously running at last year's Condura Run, I never imagined thinking of ever running a full marathon in the near future. after that condura run, i started training for 10K races, then slowly leveling up to having LSDs and 15K and 10milers, and eventually had my first half marathon at Botak Paatibayan in May 2009. during that race, i witnessed how a not so "well-organized" full marathon that packed up everything way before the "cut-off" when the race didn't even have a cut-o

lucky 13

today is the day i retired my mizuno wave inspire 4. after almost 700+ kms under its soles, i have finally decided to retire it. we've had numerous PRs together, starting with my first 21K in botak last may, upto the timex 5k funrun, and to its final 10Lrun last dec.15. and dami naming pinagdaanan ng inspire ko, and it's a bit sad to have it finally retire from competitive running, pero i believe it's replacement would hold on to the records we've had (and i'm sure my elixir 4 would also continue the winning tradition of mizuno). as i retire my ever-trusted and ever-reliable wave inspire 4, i had a lot of things going on in my mind as to what brand and model am i to choose to replace it. i researched online and found out that other than the upgraded model (inspire 5), asics gt 2140 was the most similar shoe to the mizuno wave inspire line. after much consultation online, and with other fellow runners, i decided to finally troop to second wind to ask hector for his e
